Description

Two goldcrests in a spruce oil painting, original artwork (not a print).
This one-of-a-kind painting was created using professional oil paints and a traditional multilayering technique over several sessions, allowing for delicate gradients, fine feather detail, and a soft atmospheric depth.

Two goldcrests (Regulus regulus – Lat.) – Europe’s smallest songbirds – are captured in a quiet moment of interaction. Their golden crowns and warm, subtle plumage glow gently against the dark, moody background, evoking a sense of intimacy and stillness. From the shadowed backdrop, delicate spruce branches emerge, offering the birds a natural perch and anchoring them in their forest habitat. These softly illuminated boughs add both depth and tranquility to the scene.

Symbolizing resilience, lightness, and the fleeting beauty of nature, the goldcrests bring a touch of the forest’s magic to any space.

The artwork is signed and varnished for protection. The round format (Ø 30 cm / 11.8 in) gives the piece a timeless, icon-like presence. The edges are painted, and the painting is ready to hang as is—though framing may enhance its elegance further.
