Description

Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis (L.)) on a teasel in a spotlight oil painting, original artwork (not a print).
Original oil painting, created by myself on a linen on a frame. The artwork is made with professional oils with a multi layering technique which helped me to build up different shades and tones of a color to create depth and interest of the object. The dark background lets the goldfinch to stand out, the light falls on the bird’s back and shoulders, and shines through its beak. I wanted to capture the objects gradually “coming out” of the dark. The painting was created in many sessions and I am proud to state that every detail and shade is carefully considered and applied. The artwork is signed and varnished, the side edges are painted. Please note that this painting does not need a frame, it can be hung by the edge.
